During his sixteen years with his former firm and now with Comerford & Britt, L.L.P., Mike's most fulfilling professional achievements involve helping people who had been seriously harmed by preventable accidental and negligently inflicted injuries and death due to motor vehicles, medical negligence, and dangerous conditions on commercial premises. Mike has been able to help people badly affected by surgical mishaps, negligently performed deliveries, and serious nursing and rest home neglect. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, Mike grew up in Winston-Salem and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After working for five years as a Registered Nurse at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and for McDonnell Douglas Services, Inc., he entered law school at Campbell University, moonlighting as an ICU nurse on weekends of his third year. Mike received his JD degree from Campbell University in 1990. Mike is a member of several professional organizations, plays drums, and is active in church and family life. He enjoys sports, backpacking and History. He has lectured frequently to lawyers and medical professional groups on topics of medical and nursing negligence, and on various aspects of personal injury law and practice.
